BENGALURU: A techie in his 30s has been arrested for showing his middle finger to a woman in an instance of road rage Wednesday.
The accused is Harsha HB, a resident of Attiguppe who works with a private software firm in Manyata Tech Park. He was arrested Thursday before being released on station bail.
Earlier, a woman filed a police complaint accusing Harsha (unidentified at the time of the incident) of showing her the middle finger. "I was driving on Chickpet Main Road and later came near Gopalan Mall. A car behind me was continuously honking, apparently asking me to make way. But I couldn't give way to him since it was a busy road. By then, he came near my vehicle from the left side and hurled abusive words. I wanted to ask him what was going on. Instead, he showed the middle finger and drove off. Many other commuters saw this act, and I felt humiliated and embarrassed. A woman was sitting next to him, while another was in the back seat," she told police.
However, the woman succeeded in recording the man's act and uploaded the video on X. In reply, Chamarajpet police requested her to file a complaint.
"We arrested Harsha today. We have to take statements from both parties to learn what provoked the road-rage incident. Until then, we cannot comment on anything," a police source said.
